Rustic Vintage in Jackson Hole

Megan & Paul | September 18th | Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Paul & I share a love of National Parks.  After we got engaged, we took a trip to Jackson Hole, fell in love and instantly imagined ourselves getting married with the Grand Tetons as our backdrop.

When planning our wedding, we really thought about the time of year – Jackson Hole can get very busy during the summer and winter months, so we wanted to pick an ideal time in between. Fall seemed like the most logical choice – lodging is cheaper than it is during peak season, the beautiful aspen trees are beginning to change into a fiery orange, and the weather is absolutely perfect. We decided to keep our wedding party very small – my brother was Paul’s Best Man and his sister was my Maid of Honor.  As our friends were flying in from all over the country, we wanted them to just sit back and enjoy themselves during the entirety of our wedding – including the ceremony. My father married us. This was one of the highlights of our wedding – my father is a judge and always wanted to officiate my ceremony. Initially, I was hesitant, as I was afraid he’d get emotional. However, I couldn’t be happier with the end result. It made the day that much more memorable and the pictures that much more meaningful. We named each table after a National Park we had visited together. We found vintage post cards on the internet, glued them to some card stock, and viola – instant table placards. I just loved the backdrop of the Tetons, and I love that all of our pictures now feature such a beautiful background! Carrie Patterson, our photographer, was absolutely amazing.PERSONAL TOUCHES
Our signature cocktail was a huckleberry margarita.

We rented condos right next to the Grand Tetons and allowed all of our guests to stay there, free of charge. We factored this into our wedding budget because we really wanted those who could make it to come and not feel any financial pressure. It ended up being a blast – my relatives cooked meals for our group and, while we ate dinner, we often played board games or reminisced. It was a great way to spend our time!
