In Love at Jackson Hole

Jessica & Tom | July 10th | Jackson Hole, Wyoming

From the bride:
Our wedding was inspired by the gorgeous mountain setting. Friends and family traveled from all over the globe to be with us.

At the time of the ceremony, thunderstorms were threatening in the distance, but the stormy weather actually made for a very dramatic backdrop and fortunately the bad weather did not affect us. Our officiant forgot to tell everyone to please be seated after I walked down the aisle; everyone stood for the first several minutes of the ceremony until we suddenly realized that they were all standing!  We all laughed and they were seated.  We opted for a secular ceremony; our readings were from Walt Whitman and the Velveteen Rabbit; our vows were adapted from an early German poem translated to English.  A family friend officiated.

We made all the programs, table cards, and place cards.  We printed, hand-stamped, and hand-tied them in the week leading up to the wedding. Our signature cocktail was a gin & tonic, a drink we thought would be refreshing on a hot summer day.   We also served locally brewed beers. Our guestbook was a tree that people could tie words of advice or well-wishes onto. Our favors were homemade sugar cookies (a secret family recipe).  Before the ceremony we provided fans and white wayfarer sunglasses to our guests to “stay cool”.  A lot of them wore the wayfarers long after dark and we have some great pictures of people on the dance floor in their shades.  Communication during planning is the key!  And get lots of sleep the night before your big day.RECOMMENDED VENDORS
