Adam proposed at the edge of Amphitheater Lake in Grand Teton National Park. After brainstorming wedding ideas, nothing seemed to fit until we considered making the trip back to the Tetons to tie the knot. There is something about the mountains that is just so grand and romantic!

There were lots of themes throughout the wedding. I wanted soft, natural colors, romance, and elegance, all tied in seamlessly with the grandeur of the mountains. I’ve heard other use the term “Mountain Chic” and I think that accurately describes the idea I was going for.

The ceremony took place on the terrace at Jackson Lake Lodge with the beautiful Tetons as the backdrop. The ceremony was very special to us, and we made an effort to make it very personal.  I’m told the ceremony lasted a half hour but to me it felt like five minutes. I wish I could relive it over and over again.

We debated writing our own vows but decided in the end that it was important that our vows reflected who we are and how we felt. This was our one opportunity to share our hearts with each other and the world. I did not think I would cry at the ceremony, but Adam’s vows were so special I couldn’t help it!  In the end, the vows turned out amazing, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

We really enjoyed having a small wedding because it really allowed us to share the experience on a personal level with each of our guests. The focus of the wedding really was our love and commitment instead of feeling like some sort of over the top production.
