Nicole & Brooke | August 27th  |  Stowe, Vermont

As Hurricane Irene made its way towards the state of Vermont, Brooke and Nicole said their vows at Topnotch Resort and Spa.  Brooke, a weatherman and lover of sweet baked goods, married Nicole a baker.   Luckily for the couple, the hurricane and rain held off until the next day, as was predicted by the groom.

From the bride:
We chose Stowe for our wedding because is a beautiful town that has lots of Vermont charm with many artisan shops, quaint resorts, great restaurants and lots of activities such as: skiing, kayaking, hiking, biking, and golfing to name a few.

We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the lush green mountains. Our ceremony site was decorated with a wooden trellis adorned with simple greenery and delicate flowers in addition to fresh pink rose petals scattered around.

Our officiant read a couple of poems we chose and we shared a unity candle ceremony with both of our mothers.
We exited our ceremony with U2’s “Beautiful Day” song playing in the background. Our reception was held in a gorgeous outdoor tent located in a field across from the Top Notch Resort & Spa.  The setting was very pretty with a steam, Mount Mansfield & horses in the surrounding landscape.

Guests were given home-made sugar cookie wedding cakes as favors and were also offered passed cigars.
