Emily & Bradley  |  June 16th  |  Jefferson, North Carolina

From the bride, Emily:
We wanted our wedding to showcase our love for the outdoors, nature, sustainability and new life yet share our love of all things “old” or “vintage.”  We also wanted to create an informal, light-hearted, and relaxed atmosphere.

We both attended Appalachian State University, which is nestled right in the middle of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.  We fell in love with the area—the hiking, the cool temperatures, the slower pace of life, and of course the beauty of the mountains.

I will always remember our “First Look” pictures.  They were taken at the peak of Phoenix Mountain.  It was such an intimate moment filled with so many emotions and more love than words can say.

We set up a comfortable outdoor lounge area where guests were free to mingle prior to the ceremony while they listened to the relaxing sounds of James Barr, our very talented guitarist.    We served lemonade and water and had corn hole games available for guests to play.

Maggie, our beloved 7-year-old canine daughter, was the flower girl. My Aunt performed the ceremony and Bradley’s Uncle read a special quote from Bob Marley during the ceremony—beautiful words that truly expressed our feelings for each other.  My sister was Matron of Honor and Bradley’s brother was Best Man.  Having them beside us on our wedding day meant so much—they were the reason we met!

The reception was magical. We served “Southern Comfort” foods, including pulled pork BBQ, country oven-fried chicken breast, roasted turkey breast with gravy and cranberry sauce, redskin mashed potatoes, baked macaroni and cheese, sautéed garden vegetables, citrus ambrosia salad, coleslaw, and corn fritters.  Our amazing dessert buffet was filled with assorted homemade cream and fruit pies, carrot cake, and chocolate fudge cake.
