From the bride, Jen:
Pascal & I met and fell in love in Steamboat so we could not think of a better place to get married. We both love the winter and went back and forth about getting married in the snow. We thought a winter wedding might be too risky for our out of town guests so we chose June 17th! To our pleasant surprise, there was a foot of snow on top of Mt. Werner on our wedding day. We got the best of both worlds, a beautiful spring ceremony with a touch of winter at our reception!
I loved our flowers! The vibrant colors made the day so bright and colorful. The day of our wedding it was raining on and off all morning. At about 4:30pm when we were supposed to get on the gondola to head up the ski mountain, the wind was too wild to go up. As we were the first wedding of the season, they had to get the buses out and do a trial bus ride up the mountain. With ample snow, it was touch and go if the buses could even make it up the mountain! To our relief, we were able to be bussed up to the reception site. It was a wild ride and added to the little things that made our day so memorable and perfect!
For our guest favors, my mom and I made 100 mini jars of blackberry jam.
My advice: Enjoy planning and when your wedding day comes, let the day play out, enjoy every minute…even if things don’t go as planned.
