A Fall Mountain Wedding in Aspen

Amanda & Chauncey  |  September 28th  |  Aspen, Colorado

From the bride: The mountains are so beautiful and help set the mood for an extremely special and important day. I am quite traditional and wanted a lot of the traditional aspects of a wedding. Since we had it in the mountains, I wanted a bit of the rustic appeal, but nothing overboard. Because it was a fall wedding, we made sure to have the theme fit the season with a palette of fall colors.

We planned a day wedding with the ceremony and reception on top of the mountain. We followed this with an after party at the hotel. We wanted to make sure we got to spend the entire day with our friends and family as well as be able to cut a rug without any worries about obligations.

The ceremony was on the Aspen Wedding Deck on the top of Aspen Mountain. The views are gorgeous but you could not see them. We literally had rain, hail and a thunder and lightning bolt that hit 30 feet away.

We had to stop the ceremony half way through and run inside to avoid getting soaked any further.

After we ran inside to escape the storm, my husband & I spent 5 minutes collecting ourselves before we went back out to start the ceremony again. Yes, that’s hail in my veil. There may have been a shot of whiskey involved to warm us up, but this was my favorite memory of the ceremony.

We had a good friend be our officiant. He did an amazing job, twice, since we had to start over.

I loved everything except the weather. A few tears were shed, but looking back, it made for a very memorable experience.

A Modern Mountain Wedding in Vail

Lindsay & Tim  |  September 6th  |  Vail, Colorado

From the bride:  Tim and I grew up skiing and snowboarding, hiking and camping in the mountains. We have always loved the mountains and knew we had to get married surrounded by the place that truly felt like home. The rustic, yet elegant feel that you get when you are in the Colorado Mountains is like nothing anyone can explain.

A Modern Vail Mountain Wedding

We really  wanted our wedding to express our love for the mountains as well as our personalities.

The sun was shining and there was not even a cloud in the sky when I walked down the aisle to “Here comes the Sun” by the Beatles. It was truly the most magical day to get married.

We truly felt like we were on top of the world!

For the décor, we wanted the mountain modern feel expressed with touches of the clean white Aspens and bright yellow and grey patterns. We also thought that the mint green of the succulents brought out the little extra touch of modern that we loved!

All of our signs were made from real aspen trees. We used a wood burner to personalize each detail including the bride and groom drinks, guest book, favors, and our “Mr. and Mrs.” Chair signs.

The Jewish Horah was truly memorable and being tossed in chairs by our family and friends is something we both will never forget!

We made our favors for each of our guests. We had a Lindsay spice and a Tim spice. Each one was personalized with a note with cooking ideas. They turned out wonderful and had a spice of love to them!

One of my most memorable moments was sitting with our wedding party next to the fire pit realizing how lucky we are to be surrounded by the most amazing family and friends on a perfect day!

My advice: Do not be afraid to make your dream wedding come true and always remember the reason why you are getting married.

A Rustic Vineyard Wedding in California

Christina & Kyle |  August 16th  |  Agoura Hills, California

From the bride: We both knew that we wanted a rustic, cozy, and cabin-like vibe for our wedding day.  When we visited Triunfo Creek Vineyards for the first time, we both felt this magic and excitement on the property that we knew our family and friends would be able to feel as well.

My bouquet had garden roses, hydrangeas, astilbes, dahlias, and seeded eucalyptus.

I wore a strapless sweetheart lace mermaid Enzoani gown with a pair of boots. My bridesmaids wore short blush chiffon dresses in various necklines from BHLDN.

Our tables were decorated with white linens, gold centerpieces, wooden numbers, and votive candles.

My advice: Find a venue you love, and a good wedding planner, everything else will fall into place organically. Make a checklist of everything you need to do and focus on getting one thing done at a time.
