Down-to-Earth in Fernie

Sophia & Tyler | October 16th | Fernie, British Columbia, Canada

From the bride:
We wanted our wedding to allow time to spend with family and friends so we chose this location in the mountains that would let us have a few extra days with everyone that attended.

We wanted the style of the wedding to be comfortable and down-to earth, but still rich in details and personal touches – we wanted it to feel like “us”. The anticipation for the weekend had been building and it was amazing to finally get to the location and spend some relaxing time with friends and family before the wedding day.On the day of the wedding I woke up feeling the most excited and nervous I had ever felt. We had planned to spend a few minutes together at the start of the day before the ceremony and photos took place, and those first moments together when we first saw each other, away from everyone else,  were my favorite – it was amazing to feel all the emotion- the joy and excitement and to be able to share it together, it set the tone for the rest of the day. My Dad performed the ceremony so of course there were some jokes in the mix – we had written our own vows which brought such a personal tone through it all. I love typography so I found some inspiration online and designed our invites, cd labels, and menu’s for each table. Tyler made a mix for a cd that guests could take home from the weekend. The reception was an absolute blast, the restaraunt had huge windows with an amazing view of the mountains – we had a great dj that got the dancing started right away and the dance party continued all the way till it was time to shut down. All the love and support that we received throughout the day was overwhelming – we felt so blessed to have such an awesome gathering of the people we love, it was a surreal experience.
