Rocky Mountain High

Caylie & Brett |  August 13th  |  Golden, British Columbia, Canada

From the bride:
We wanted a dramatic Mountain setting for our wedding day!

We had the ceremony in the late afternoon at the top of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The weather was gorgeous and it was the perfect setting for our ceremony.  It was just the dramatic backdrop we had been looking for.

The ceremony itself was short and sweet; we wrote our own vows and had a lot of input into what went into the ceremony.

I think my favorite details were in the ceremony.  Our Justice of the Peace let us have a lot of say into the wording of the ceremony.  It made it very unique to us and special because there were details that fit us so well.  Writing our own vows was also special and amusing, at one point Brett started to get a bit flustered with it all and said we would grow together in awesomeness.

I still remember that I managed not to cry while saying my vows, but once the ceremony was over and we were walking back down the aisle and my favorite song came on, I started to lose it.

We snuck out of the reception with our photographers to capture some photos as the sun was setting.  It was really dramatic and is one of the lasting memories of the day because it was a chance to get away from everyone and just relax for a few minutes in a gorgeous setting.
