With help from the incredibly brilliant team at Lukas Trudeau Event Company, the day was one filled with sophisticated charm from the bride’s custom gown to the pheasant feather accents. A Simple Mountain Wedding in Colorado
From the bride, Jenna: We fell in love snowboarding in the mountains. We spent many vacations snowboarding in both California and Colorado! To get married in the snow just seemed like the perfect fit. We loved the idea of having as many people in the same place as possible and Devil’s Thumb Ranch could not have been more perfect. Almost all of our guests stayed on the Ranch, enjoyed everything from skiing, ice fishing, sleigh rides, sledding, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, to massages and just lounging around. The venue and location provided something for everyone!
We had our ceremony in the restored Broad Axe Barn at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. It took place in front of the fireplace with very simple cream and wood chairs, cream curtains, chandeliers and tons of candles lining the aisle. The space was crisp and intimate creating a dream-like feeling.
The seating chart was completely DIY. We glued each and every petal on each and every flower (24 petals for each flower), on both the escort card and the place cards. They turned out great, but were so time consuming.
Our décor was absolutely perfect. Simple, yet elegant and dreamlike. The cream curtains, with tons of candles and simple floral designs allowed the setting and our surroundings to shine through.
My advice:Do NOT try to make everyone else happy. You will fail. Be respectful to your family and friends, but when it comes down to difficult decisions, they are your decisions. Also, have fun with the process. Don’t stress out too much and enjoy the journey.

An Intimate Winter Wedding in Jackson
From the bride, Audrey: We decided to have a simple and intimate mountain wedding in Jackson. We didn’t want anything over the top just a nice wintery celebration.
I wore white snow boots with my wedding dress and found a white fur coat and custom designed handmade gloves for my outdoor photos to stay cozy warm! I also used a beautiful brooch bouquet for the pictures outside to save my fresh flower bouquet from the below freezing temperatures.
Even though the temperature dipped to around 10 degrees, we had a blast modeling taking pictures. We felt as if we were in our own personal winter wonderland fairytale.
The ceremony was held in a cozy wooden chapel with a stained glass cross for a backdrop with only 45 of our closest friends and family in attendance.
We couldn’t miss taking a few photos under the iconic antler arches all lit up with Christmas lights at twilight.
Looking back, I would allow more time at the reception, 2 1/2 hours was not enough!

A Rustic Glam Wedding in Colorado
From the bride, Lindsey: Growing up, every year my family would take a ski trip to Colorado. I fell in love with Colorado and the mountains at an early age. Adel and I spent several vacations in Estes Park and made lasting memories that forever impacted our relationship. It was only natural that we would chose to get married in the town we loved and shared such strong memories.
I never was a big fan of uniform Bridesmaid dresses. I gave my bridesmaids a color palette (blush/taupe/metallic) and encouraged them to choose dresses that fit their personalities. There is nothing worse than having to buy and wear a dress you do not love. I wanted each bridesmaids to look and feel her best.
Each bridesmaid was given a fur collar to pair with their dress to wear on the big day- It ended up looking amazing!
We couldn’t have gotten married without our dog, Micky being a part of the day!
I wore a Nicole Miller gown from Nordstrom.
We placed a big focus on neutrals colors and flowers with pine cone and greenery elements.
We incorporated Native American elements into the ceremony, many of which my husband picked out himself.
Looking back, I never imagined I would be so stress free and relaxed the day of my wedding. I enjoyed taking in every moment of the big day!
We had a blast creating custom wedding gift bags for our guests!
For the centerpieces, we incorporated pieces of my personal milk glass collection. I have collected hundreds of pieces over the years that I am a little obsessed with.
My advice: Hire a wedding planner! Having a great wedding planner allows you to be able to relax and enjoy your big day. You shouldn’t have to worry about anything except getting married and having an amazing time!

An Elegant Rocky Mountain Wedding
From the event planner, Classic Creations:
Ralph and Sara love the outdoors, horses, and have a great modern style. We made sure we brought a bit of all of that to their elegant, rustic mountain wedding.
Sara and Ralph work for the Five Guys franchise, we played some of the theme off of that with our “One Guy + One Gal” theme and signature drink.
One of our fave details was the custom bar with a photo of the couples horses. Sara said that it was one of the only times the horses ever ran together, luckily the photographer captured it during their engagement photo session.

We took the big ballroom and divided it up in to a lounge and bar section, a dinner and dancing section, and a wow this is the focal point of the room cake section! We placed a sheer curtain at the back of the room with trees and tons of candles behind it to add to that outdoor romantic feeling, pulling back the curtain to reveal the absolutely stunning cake! I loved hearing the ooohs and ahhs as the guests walked in!
The cake was just stunning, and believe it or not ….fake! With the exception of one small round at the back for Sara and Ralph to cut.
The cake design matched Sara’s gown.
Of course our “One Guy + One Gal” had to pay homage to Five Guys for bringing them together. A macaroon hamburger ice cream sandwich and churros fries in paper cones were served as a late night snack.

A Vail Mountain Wedding Romance
From the bride, Erin:
Our wedding style was a mix of the natural beauty in the mountains with the romance of soft blush color tones.
The ceremony was really short and simple. We wrote our own vows in letters to each other and had them delivered before the ceremony.
We had cocktail hour on the patio outside Sebastian’s Leonora Restaurant. The weather was pure perfection, the drinks were wonderful, the food was outstanding.. and to see everyone you love in this beautiful place, having such a great time, was indescribable.
Our décor was soft and romantic with lots of natural wood, twigs and flowers. All very reflective of the beautiful Colorado mountains.
Our first dance was very memorable, we really practiced and were so nervous about it, then it went beautifully!
My advice: Don’t get too caught up in the planning. You should be more excited about being married to this person than the actual wedding and party. Remember the wedding is simply the celebration of the marriage!

Classic Mountain Rustic in Beaver Creek
Kelly & Erik | May 26th | Beaver Creek, Colorado
From the bride, Kelly:
Erik and I both grew up in Colorado and have always loved the mountains and skiing together. Beaver Creek was the perfect location because it gave us the mountain wedding we were looking for, but was also easy for our guests to travel too. Plus Beaver Creek is such a great setting because not only is it one of the best spots in Colorado but everything is within walking distance or shuttle service so none of our guests had to drive and there were so many activities for them to enjoy. We had guests go golfing, hiking, fishing and to the BBQ Festival that weekend.
My wedding dress (Monique Lhuillier) was a blush pink color so it inspired the colors for the flowers, invitations and other details.
My dad passed away several years ago so I had a locket with a picture of him tied to the bouquet. I also wrapped the bouquet in a piece of my mom’s dress, that was my something old.
I took our save the date which was a custom illustration of Beano’s with our names and wedding date on it and made it into a poster which everyone signed as our “guest book”. I love that because now I can frame it and hang in our home and always remember our special day and all the fun notes from our friends and family.
My advice: Do not caught up or stressed over all the little details. In planning a wedding there are so many things that you can fixate on and you have to keep in mind the bigger picture and what the wedding is about. Alos, on your wedding day, take a moment with your new husband and stop to take in everything, because it goes by way to fast.
