A Fall Mountain Wedding with Black & Gold Accents
From the bride, Monica: Our wedding was more on the nontraditional side. My wedding dress was black, which is what I had always wanted. I love the fall and the mountains so I wanted our wedding to have both. We also wanted our family to experience the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
The Bouquets
My parents are antique dealers, so my mom found brooches at estate sales and my dad made them all into bouquets.
The Ring
My ring is a black diamond set in a halo of white diamonds, just perfect!
The Ceremony
We tied the knot in Estes Park surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and the fall colors.
Advice
Don’t let anyone influence your decisions with planning. Plan your day how you want it!
The Reception
The dancing was so much fun. It was important to us that our wedding had a laid back feel so that our guests could enjoy themselves and it felt like we really captured that.

A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah
From the bride, Sarah: Daniel and I are both avid skiers. We knew we wanted to get married in the mountains, it’s our favorite place in the whole world. We wanted a luxurious après ski wedding with a warm holiday glow and our closest family plus a few friends who were crazy enough to make the trip.
THE DAY OF
We had a blizzard the day of our wedding. The most beautiful thick white snowy blanket that fell steadily for the whole day and into the night, it was magical!!
THE RECEPTION
Our reception was filled with gold glittery candles, red holly berries, brown pinecones on deep green pine boughs, and aspen tree accents. I felt like I was outside in the mountains—but inside of the coziest lodge glowing with the most lovely holiday sparkle!
ADVICE
Be chill. It’s your one and only dream-come-true day to celebrate the love of your life and the beginning of the rest of your forever together. At a certain point you let it go and just go with it because the day is going to be as wonderful as you allow it to be. Our day was wonderful and I did my best to soak up every moment

An Indian and American Wedding Celebration
From the photographer, Kara Pearson Photography: Michelle and Nik had a two-day blowout wedding celebration. The first day was their Indian wedding with Nik and Michelle wearing custom-made Indian attire. Michelle was drenched in gold jewelry. Nik rode in on a white horse as wedding guests danced him in to greet his in-laws. The ceremony was all in Indian overlooking the mountains. They had their American wedding (dubbed the “white wedding”) the next day. Michelle wore a custom Kenneth Poole dress, and Nik wore a traditional black tux.

A Mountain Glam Wedding in Vail, Colorado
From the bride, Elisa: Having been born and raised in Colorado, I knew I wanted to make our wedding truly authentic with all the things that I love about my home state. Since John and I have so many wonderful memories in Vail, it was an easy decision to make when choosing our wedding destination. Our wedding planning started with a few themes: simple, rustic and elegant with a vintage flare. We started with a few details and it grew from there.
The flowers at the ceremony and reception stayed true to our theme. I envisioned a natural wild flower look, but still elegant. Lizzy from Soul Flower Floral Designs made that vision come to life. I was absolutely obsessed with my bouquet, my bridesmaids’ bouquets, and the beautiful arrangements used throughout the reception.
John and I decided to do a first look at the top of Vail Mountain which was so incredibly special. It was nice to have a moment alone with each other before the ceremony overlooking the Rocky Mountain Range. The view truly took our breath away and the moment was perfect. Chris McLaughlin did an incredible job making us comfortable and the photos he took throughout the day truly captured the joy that we felt.
One personalized moment that I will always remember was having John’s brother play the guitar, while my dear friend sang ”When the Right One Comes Along” during the ceremony. We were so overwhelmed with love in that moment and it will stand out in my mind as the most complete I have ever felt.
Another special moment was when John and I took pictures with our wedding party under the iconic Covered Bridge in Vail Village. There was a food and wine festival happening that weekend making the bridge a very busy intersection. To have complete strangers be so accommodating while those photos were being taken was also very special.
Continuing with our authentic Colorado theme, we used vintage skis as our guestbook and gave guests wild flower seeds to “spread the love.” We provided personalized mason jars to drink our “I Do” beer from Gore Range Brewery. We also had fun games for the guests to play that tied in with our rustic theme such as the corn hole and pinball.
Jessica from A Vintage Affair Events & Rentals and her team went above and beyond to ensure the reception encompassed all the elements of our theme. Each aspect of the décor was truly perfect, from the whiskey barrel dessert table, to the beautiful lounge area, and the use of wooden crates to display pictures from our parents wedding.

An Intimate New Year’s Eve Wedding in Park City, Utah
From the bride, Lindsey: Both Aaron and I are medical students, and have very limited schedules. We only had a two week window to get married over the New Year, so we knew it had to be in Park City. We got to have an extra little ski vacation following the wedding, and all of our out of town guests loved that Utah snow.
We didn’t really have a theme to the wedding, but we knew we wanted it to feel like a New Years Eve party. We ended up settling on black white and gold and it was perfect.
We ended up using a couple hundred white candles along the aisles, on the tables and to create a backdrop for the ceremony. The candlelight was amazing and made the whole evening feel so intimate.
I think my favorite part about the whole wedding was having my little brother officiate. He has been able to watch us grow as a couple since we started dating and he really customized our ceremony to us. Every word he said had so much meaning to it, it was so captivating and spectacular.
We had the most beautiful, massive Christmas tree that we decided to leave up for the holiday. All the tree decor was in our wedding colors so it fit in beautifully.
We set up a clear tent on the back patio, which housed a fire pit, s’more station, and hot cocoa for guests to warm up. That was a real hit and one of my favorite parts of the reception.
My advice: Start early and hire a party planner. There’s no way I could have accomplished everything the planner did, and it made the whole thing so stress free.
