A Chic Mountain Wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho

From the bride, Samantha: We are from Miami, Florida and got married in Sun Valley, Idaho – where we got engaged! It was so great to have all of our closest friends and family in the mountains together – so far removed from our everyday lives – with tons of activities to do together.

The whole day was really personalized to what Adam & I wanted. We’re very casual and laid back and we just wanted to party in a beautiful setting!

A Chic Mountain Wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho

The weather wasn’t working in our favor all weekend.  It didn’t rain all summer and of course, our wedding day was expecting rain. We had to order a tent for the ceremony last minute.

We held the ceremony outside underneath a clear tent with the ski mountain as the backdrop. We are Jewish so we were married by a rabbi, with a traditional Jewish ceremony under a chuppah.

When the rabbi asked if my husband takes me to be his wife, his response was “yes” instead of “I do”! It was so typical of him and lots of laughter ensued!

I loved the way the florals turned out. The chandeliers were outfitted with flowers and greenery to match our color scheme and gave the tent a warm feeling.

Most memorable moment: Our first dance! We took dance lessons, which is SO out of character for the two of us but the end result was pretty comical.

ADVICE: I would encourage everyone to make decisions together. Adam and I did a lot of the legwork ourselves and it was fun! Definitely stressful at times, but remember that it’s just one day in your life…and to have FUN with it.

A Rocky Mountain Destination Wedding in Vail

From the bride, Jennifer: We wanted the wedding to feel upscale while keeping in touch with the Colorado mountain setting.  We created a mountain logo that incorporated our initials, which was used on our welcome bags, cocktail napkins, the reception dinner menu, escort cards, etc. We also customized the menu to utilize as much local food as possible to keep with the Colorado feel. We chose a color palette of white, peach and grey.

We lit a unity candle during our ceremony.  We enjoyed the symbolism of our two families coming together.  My parents used the same candle on their wedding day, which made it even more special.

Looking out at our friends and family in the chapel.  It was overwhelming and amazing all at once to feel their love and support.

My favorite detail was our signature cocktail, the “Southside.”  This is our favorite drink to share in the groom’s hometown of Oyster Bay, NY and it brought a little bit of the east coast to the mountains.

A few deer joined our outdoor cocktail hour, which was an unexpected, fun moment.

My mom and I created the escort cards.  They were in the shape of lift tickets with our mountain logo. We hung them from metal tags on a chic yet rustic wooden board.

Table décor included long seeded eucalyptus garlands interspersed with white florals, candles and antlers.

A White Tie Mountain Wedding in Utah

From the bride, Sarah: We wanted a white tie wedding, very formal and very traditional. We both felt very strongly that marriage is an expression of love and commitment to each other. It was not something to be entered into lightly, and keeping with tradition, it was also my parents 36 wedding anniversary. Historically, the people we know who have had a more traditional wedding, have stood the test of time.

A White Tie Mountain Wedding in Canyon Resort, Utah

Being from a long line of southern women. Engraved invitations were the only option. I did embellish them with ribbon and a wax seal. I hand wrote every outer and inner envelope my self. The coolest feature is we now have the copper plates for each piece of the engraving. They will be framed.

A White Tie Mountain Wedding in Canyon Resort, Utah

For the ceremony, we wanted an arch wrapped in vines, flowers, and crystals. I created the chair backs with love birds.

My Uncle George performed the exact ceremony performed at my parents wedding, from the same book. The book was my great, great grandfathers ceremony book – it is over 100 years old.

I only wanted one floral centerpiece. All white hydrangeas to fall off the edge of the table and pool on the floor.

Our favors were hand printed scarves that matched our wedding linens in custom boxes with custom notes inside. The boxes were embossed with white flowers and vines.

My advice:

1.  Enjoy every minute of the planning process; I had the best time with my mother planning our wedding. There was no drama, no issues. And I had found my dress with my mother; it was a very special perfect moment, one she had imagined since I was little. My mother cried when we found the dress.

2.  Hand write all your envelopes and every thank you card including the envelopes. After all it might be the only time in your life you do this…. And labels are not personal.

3.  Learn the phrase, “I don’t know… call the wedding planner.”

A Winter Wedding in the Rocky Mountains

On a beautiful Colorado blue sky day, these high school sweet hearts said “I do” at one of our favorite mountain venues, Devil’s Thumb Ranch.  A nature-inspired color palette of greens and creams with pops of navy blue perfectly complemented the snow covered landscape. An intimate ceremony overlooking the Continental Divide followed by a cozy reception inside the beautiful Board Axe Barn was perfectly captured by Brinton Studios.

An Intimate Winter Wedding in Jackson

From the bride, Audrey: We decided to have a simple and intimate mountain wedding in Jackson. We didn’t want anything over the top just a nice wintery celebration.

I wore white snow boots with my wedding dress and found a white fur coat and custom designed handmade gloves for my outdoor photos to stay cozy warm! I also used a beautiful brooch bouquet for the pictures outside to save my fresh flower bouquet from the below freezing temperatures.

Even though the temperature dipped to around 10 degrees, we had a blast modeling taking pictures. We felt as if we were in our own personal winter wonderland fairytale.

The ceremony was held in a cozy wooden chapel with a stained glass cross for a backdrop with only 45 of our closest friends and family in attendance.

A Winter Destination Wedding in Colorado

From the bride, Nikki: Our wedding was inspired by our LOVE of the snow and winter/Christmas time! We both grew up in hot Arizona and have attended many, many outdoor spring AZ weddings. We wanted to do something completely unique and different, and to give our guests a memorable experience.

A Winter Destination Wedding in Colorado

During the wedding week, my family and some close family friends all rented a huge vacation home in Golden right near downtown. We had the rehearsal dinner in the home and then all went out to the Ace High Tavern in downtown Golden. It ended up being one of the most fun and memorable nights there! We also all went on the Coors Brewery Tour and some of us went to Loveland skiing. Everyone made the trip a fun vacation and tons of great memories were made! Seeing the reception set-up before all the guests were let in to the room was amazing. We had white satin linens with navy Celtic Knot table runners, various heights of candles and white hydrangeas in mercury glass vases.

A Winter Destination Wedding in Colorado

My number one vision was to feel like I was at a formal dinner party. I always knew my vision would center around huge, long, king-sized tables that were set with beautiful glassware. Our color palette was almost all white with accents of navy and silver/mercury glass.

Each place setting had sterling silver flatware, a navy satin napkin and a white box with a navy bow that contained our favors, silver snowflake ornaments.

My advice: Get organized from the very beginning, be realistic about your budget – everything is way more than you think it will be so pick and choose what is most important, and get your fiancé involved. As much as it made it more difficult sometimes to have my very picky husband’s opinion, it was also that much more special that he helped me design our special day.

A Garden Themed Wedding in the Mountains

From the photographer, Brie Marie Photographers:
Katie & Kyle’s wedding was held at Katie’s family nursery. Not only was this a beautiful little spot for a wedding, it was also sentimental to the bride as it was the place she grew up going to visit her daddy at work. The type of quiet serenity that comes with driving miles up into the breathtaking White Mountains in Arizona is something you will never experience in the hustle and bustle of a city.  It turned out to be a blustery and stormy day complete with torrential downpour and golf ball sized hail. Despite the fact that it was a summer wedding held on August 3rd, there was one point during the day that it appeared as if it had recently snowed because the ground was covered in sheets of hail. Everyone, including the bride, took it in stride. At one point, Katie looked out the window and said “I have lived her my whole life and I have never seen it rain like this!”

A Nursery Themed Wedding in the White Mountains of Arizona

Katie didn’t miss a beat when it came to details. Her color scheme was grey, white and green. She made most of the decor herself which all pointed back to the nursery theme. She thought of everything from potted basil and rosemary plants set on old wooden pallets to candles wrapped in herbs. Every detail was absolutely perfect and practically dripping with sentimentality.

A Nursery Themed Wedding in the White Mountains of Arizona A Nursery Themed Wedding in the White Mountains of Arizona A Nursery Themed Wedding in the White Mountains of Arizona A Nursery Themed Wedding in the White Mountains of Arizona

Katie wore a stunning satin and beaded, one shoulder, dress with matching veil and held an exquisite white and green bouquet which was photographed on the ladder leading up to the treehouse that Katie and her brother played in as children. But, perhaps, the sweetest thing Katie wore were the pearls given to her by her grandfather when she was born. The Bridesmaids wore simple grey dresses with green sashes and their look was topped off by the most comfortable shoe in the history of bridesmaids – TOMS! A Nursery Themed Wedding in the White Mountains of Arizona

The ceremony site was a sea of people wearing ponchos and holding umbrellas. Until the bride and her dad began to walk down the aisle. As soon as they stepped for out of her dad’s old Ford truck the clouds parted and the sun shone through the clouds in creating one of the most breath taking skies I have ever seen. It didn’t rain another drop the rest of the night! A Nursery Themed Wedding in the White Mountains of Arizona

Kyle and Katie were married on a bridge made by Katie’s father and brother and underneath the tree that Katie and her dad planted when he first opened the nursery.

They danced for the first time as husband and wife  under the stars surrounded by towering pine trees and the many friends and family who absolutely adored them.

A Nursery Themed Wedding in the White Mountains of Arizona

The night was concluded by one of the greatest parties I have ever witnessed. Not a single guest stayed in their seats. There was hardly even enough room on the dance floor to hold everyone! It was an absolutely wonderful day for one of the sweetest and most genuine couples I have ever met. Their love for one another just bubbles over in everything they do.
