A Mountain Wedding in Yoho National Park, Canada
From the bride, Kelsey: Getting married outside and connecting with nature in the country was important to us. The Rockies have this natural simplistic beauty that creates an enchanting environment it makes your day feel magical.
Involving Daniel was really helpful. I chose the colours, professionals, and items I wanted to incorporate for our day. Daniel replied to all of the follow up emails and kept track of all our payments. Our wedding was a team effort. Ha ha, that being said, Daniel was kicked out of the decision making process when he asked if his friends were aloud to bring costumes and a fog machine to the wedding.
Hint to future brides, if you think you will be emotional prior to going down the aisle, just wait to see how your dad is. My dad is a conservative, strong, kind man who rarely shows emotions, but he got emotional prior to walking down the aisle ‘happy tears’ he called them. I BARELY kept it together.
Getting in a canoe in my wedding dress and balancing on heels for a photo was terrifying and amazing. There were a lot of tourists around the area taking photos of us, I felt like a movie star.
For the reception, we rented chiavari chairs in white, white rose bud table runners, white pillars and yellow napkins.
My advice: Things will go wrong, just expect it. The important thing is you love each other and you get to spend forever together. Also, you cannot make every guest or relative happy. Pick your dream wedding and limit the amount of advice you listen to. Hire an event planner to help with the entire event as it is very difficult to organize and have the day run smoothly.

Two Happy Campers Wed in Colorado
From the bride, Christy: We both love camping and first said, “I Love You” around a camp fire, and Will proposed to me while we were camping. We thought it was a fun theme and spoke to what we wanted to have, a nice getaway of an event for everyone to have fun!
I chose a color palette of mustard yellow, teal and turquoise.
Each bridesmaid had a different dress that they picked out during our day of shopping and my maid of honor was in teal while all other girls were in yellow.
I was mesmerized when I walked into our reception.
I loved the mixture of bottles and mason jars with the tall vases filled with yellow aspens. It looked lush and elegant like you were walking through the forest with bunches of flowers on the side of the path.
During the reception, we decided it would be fun to have a conga line and pass out feather boas, glow sticks, hats, crazy glasses and turn the fun up a notch.
Looking back, I wish I would have made the time to talk to all our guests.
My advice: People will tell you it’s just a day and don’t worry about the details and that you are working too hard and blah, blah, blah. If you want to dig into the details and make stuff that you will only have for a day – do it. It is what makes the journey to your wedding day. Remind yourself that nothing else matters but being married at the end of the day. You get to marry your best friend and that’s all that matters.

A Rustic Fall Wedding in Colorado
From the bride, Amber: We just wanted a laid back wedding that was “comfortable” for everyone to enjoy yet memorable!
The ceremony was held on the lawn with the beautiful mountains in the background! The location just couldn’t be beat in our opinions! The highlight was the wonderful weather we had that day.
We had the reception in the barn, which is absolutely gorgeous.
The table linens were purple with burlap on top and the centerpieces were square vases with purple ribbon around the top and green apples inside with a sunflower on the top.
Jared wrote a little story on everyone’s personalized menu about the table that they were sitting at which was a different city/town in Germany that we were going to visit on our honeymoon!
Looking back, I LOVED that feeling of it being “your” day!! I HATED how fast the day went! Yikes it flew by! I CRIED as I walked down the aisle! Yep I was one of “those”!!! And yes I LAUGHED AND GIGGLED when I knew I would spend the rest of my life with the man I love!!! We had an awesome wedding!!!

A Beaver Creek Wedding at the Ritz
From the bride, Leah: For our wedding, we wanted to spend time with the people we love in a beautiful location. We wanted a focus on good local wine and food, and the Ritz made that possible.
The days preceeding the wedding were filled with fun and relaxing activities for us and our guests, including hiking, mountain biking, swimming, and great food.
About a week after our wedding, Ryan and I left for a two-year assignment in Jerusalem (we’re both in the foreign service). Our wedding was also our goodbye party, and as such, we really wanted it to reflect us as a couple. Bachelors Gulch was truly the perfect location for us, as it allowed us to spend time with our guests doing activities important to us as a couple.
Our wedding ceremony was held outside surrounded by mountains. Ryan’s uncle performed the ceremony with us writing our own vows.
After the ceremony, we had a cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner.
Our wedding was small, only 60 people, so we really enjoyed having dinner separate from dancing so we could spend time talking to each and every guest (and eating our meals).
From dinner, we went inside to the ballroom for an awesome dance party.

A Simple Wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado
From the bride, Sara:
We chose Breckenridge because we wanted to have a casual outdoor wedding in the mountains. I wanted the day to feel uniquely ‘us.’ I didn’t want it to be overdone, or over the top with silly little things – we did not do favors, I did our flowers.
I did our flowers. This was a really fun adventure – but I may reconsider as it was a bit of an undertaking getting up at 6:30AM to make our bouquets and boutonnieres the day of the wedding. I would say that they did turn out great with the help of my lady family members and bridesmaids.
We wanted to make our ceremony special by having my grandfather marry us. He did such an amazing job and everyone commented about how great it was to have him involved.
The skies closed up as soon as we were announced husband and wife and as we were literally walking down the aisle – as we got to the end of the aisle it began to rain lightly and then the storm came in and everyone had to take cover in the tent next door.
My advice: Soak it all in! Enjoy all the love you are getting!

A Simple & Fun Wedding in Colorado
From the bride, Dana:
Unlike most girls, I never grew up visualizing my wedding day. So I had no ideas or expectations going into planning. This made it a really fun process allowing me to focus on emphasizing the things that Stan and I love together and sharing them with our friends and family.
I really wanted the day to be about sharing our love with our family and friends, and just having a good time. We kept things simple and fun, as to not take away from why we were together, but with an added twist of elegance for style.
To honor those that could not be with us, I had charms hanging from my bouquet with their photos.
I really loved our matching personalized bright yellow converse sneakers. We wore them the whole day!
Our ceremony was so much fun and such a personal experience!
We had a “thank you” toast to our guests in multi-colored test tube shooters.
The Manor House’s outdoor setting was spectacular and a perfect showcase of Colorado’s beauty. With the rolling foothills behind us, Red Rocks in the distance, and Downtown Denver perfectly framed on the horizon.
We are huge music lovers, so we assigned every table number a specific song, which played as a prompt for that table to hit the buffet. It was a hit!
My advice: The day is important, but the marriage is paramount. Plan for the day but live for the marriage. Enjoy each other and love deeply.
We woke up the morning after the wedding wanting to do the whole thing over again!

Venue & Caterer: The Manor House. Such a gorgeous venue. All the staff were so helpful and professional. Wonderful catering, we loved the options they had and the food was delicious.

Paper Props: The Print Café. This business does excellent work. They were so easy and helpful to work with. I would absolutely recommend them.
DJ & Videographer: ABC Music, Video & Photography. They were very professional.
Gown: Dora Grace. I loved my experience with this shop.
Jewelry: Brent & Jess. They handmade our rings which are imprinted with each other’s fingerprints. The rings are perfect and so special.
Honeymoon Location: As music lovers, we spent our honeymoon fund on a series of concerts over the summer at our favorite Colorado concert venue: Red Rocks Amphitheater! One of the shows included a group called Blind Pilot, they play the song that we danced our first dance to, and Brandi Carlile, an artist who plays a song we included in our ceremony. It was amazing to see them both live just after our wedding!
An Autumn Wedding in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado
From the bride, Tori:
We wanted to have our wedding in Colorado to really be able to show our family and friends why we moved to such a gorgeous state. I also wanted to get married outside in autumn because of the vibrant tree colors.
We were married on the lawn with a view of the Collegiate mountain peaks.
Instead of a sign-in guest book, we took three of our favorite Chicago sports teams jerseys to have people sign. We have them framed and hanging in our house.
I am an avid handwritten card lover, so at each table we had people write us letters that corresponded to the table they were sitting at. “Write a note to Tony and Tori to open on their 8th wedding anniversary”.
Our reception ended up being 7 hours long, so we got to celebrate with everyone!
My advice: It is your wedding and it should represent the two of you, do not get lost in the planning or in family/friend expectations. Also, ALWAYS number the back of the invitation return cards because there will definitely be people who do not return them and who forget to write their names on them!

A Lake Tahoe Destination Wedding
From the photographer, Charlotte Allegra:
Melissa & Kasey met while traveling, and decided to incorporate their love for travel and beautiful places into a gorgeous destination wedding at Lake Tahoe. Pops of grey and yellow against the the famous “Tahoe-blue” made for stunning portraiture. Their love for travel was showcased in the details – the wedding tables were named for places they had traveled together. The groom’s ring was made with gold they had panned from the Yuba river. The bride’s love of design was showcased in the flower arrangements – specifically the boutonnieres, which she designed herself. The couple did not have a bridal party, because they felt that all of their guests were equally special to them. The intimate wedding was perfect. You could tell that everyone there had a great love for both the bride and groom, and each other.
