A Mountain Destination Wedding in Telluride

From the Magazine: Anne & Derek

Derek and I both live and work a considerable distance from many of our friends and family and extended relatives. We were concerned with “playing favorites” and decided to go with a neutral location that was secluded enough to be considered a real vacation. Telluride was the perfect mix of an exciting adventure and relaxing destination vacation in a place that is truly a piece of heaven on earth…

An Elegant Wedding in the Foothills of Colorado

From the Magazine: Annie & Eric |  June 16th

From the bride: We tried to make the day about us, and wanted to make the day as fun as possible for our guests. I love purple, so everything had a lavender touch to it that we complimented with whites and blush. Continue reading below:

“Till Death Do Us Part” Wedding

From the photographer: From the Hip Photo:  “Till death do us part” the traditional wedding vows exchanged by the married couple who intend to spend the remainder of their lives together. For Christy and Danny, these words were only a mere reminder of their timeless love for each other. With gothic styled flourishes, the masterminds behind the Denver Zombie Crawl, the bride and groom themselves, conjured up a wedding that would even make Tim Burton jealous. However, Christy was no corpse bride. In fact, she glowed with absolute happiness standing next to her groom making what would generally be a spooky graveyard into a romantic and intimate backdrop for the duo.  As the day continued and the ceremony began, Christy, in her classic wedding gown, made her procession down the aisle. The moment Christy and Danny intertwined fingers, looked into each other eyes and exchanged touching vows, in the form of eulogies, was a moment no one would forget.

The reception was definitely a monster mash. Each table was beautifully decorated with a unique and individual centerpiece. From old, vintage books, dominoes, chess pieces, tarot cards, and spirit boards, to mossy tablecloths and tiny music boxes, each item represented the couple in one way or another. WWII-era love notes hung from the ceiling above the dance floor where Christy danced with her father who then handed his daughter off to his son-in-law for their first waltz as a married couple.

As the couple began their first dance, Itchy-O, a Denver-based percussion-centered electronic performance band, crash-surprised the couple’s first dance with a dizzying electric cacophony. Shortly after, gorgeous ballet dancers put on a performance for Christy, Danny, and their guests.

After dancing their lives away with their friends and family, Christy and Danny drove off into the sunset in a vintage hearse with a license plate that read “til death.”

A Colorful New Mexico Styled Shoot

This floral focused shoot was adorned with hot saturated colors in a breakaway from the contrasting New Mexico desert. The hand selected flowers were very feminine and fun with bold splashes of red, pink, orange, and chartreuse. The armature is a kinetic and industrial form that added movement and energy to the florals.

A Winter Wedding with a Snowboarding Bride & Groom

Twee & John | February 16th

From the photographer, Mark Creery Photography:  Twee and John had a small and heart-felt wedding at Sapphire Point overlooking a frozen Lake Dillon and the mountains of Breckenridge Ski Resort. After several days of fog and snow, they had perfect February weather and were able to have a fun day that reflected their true personalities. After their morning wedding they decided to do what they loved doing together – hitting the slopes for some snowboarding. Twee caught lots of attention in her cheetah print shrug along with her dress, which covered almost her entire board and collected many pounds of snow and ice along the way. That didn’t stop her from shredding up the slopes with her new hubbie. With gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and the sun shining, it was an idyllic scene for some adventurous wedding photos.

An Elegant Mountain Wedding in Beaver Creek

Sarah & Shane  |  August 27th

From the bride: Growing up in Colorado, my dream was always to get married in the mountains. We love to spend time in the mountains year-round, with Vail and Beaver Creek being our favorite mountain towns. I wanted a classic, elegant wedding with a mountain feel. I love flowers so, we incorporated flowers into every aspect of the day. Our color palette was a mix of coral and light pink with lots of greenery to contrast with the beautiful mountain views. We also included gold accents throughout the ceremony and reception. Read more below…

A Magical Colorado Ranch Wedding

Kate & Justin  | June 11th

From the bride: We met in 6th grade and started dating our senior year in high school. Justin proposed on Christmas Eve, in the presence of both of their families. Our families are incredibly important to both of us, and we wanted them with us during this really special moment. We knew we wanted to be married outside in a mountain setting with a rustic elegance style with classic details. We chose a color palette of blush pink, navy blue, ivory and white.

THE GUEST BOOK

We wanted to do something special and personal for our guest book. My mom and I picked out fabric squares and put together a combination of patterns. We grabbed a fabric safe pen and asked our guests to sign on the squares. We are making a quilt out of the signed squares so we can always feel wrapped up in love and support of our favorite people looking back on our wedding day.
