Cades Cove Church Wedding in Tennessee
From the photographer, JoPhoto… Bella and Brady traveled from West Virginia to the Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to get married in the historic white Missionary Baptist Church.
THE CEREMONY
Moments before their wedding began, the sky opened up and it poured rain for a solid hour. Thankfully, the church is indoors and everyone kept dry.
POST CEREMONY
After their ceremony, we walked outside the church and saw a mother black bear with her two cubs casually walking through the forest.
The mountains were covered in low lying fog lovingly referred to as the “smoke” of the Great Smoky Mountains.
The butterflies fluttered around in celebration of these two souls becoming one.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park Wedding Inspiration
Do you believe in the idea that each person has a soulmate? And when you find yours, you are complete. Like there was a missing link, and then it’s whole.
For 52 years, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park had a missing link on the Foothills Parkway. A 1.65-mile gap of unfinished road that was supposed to connect Walland to Wears Valley, but because the terrain was so treacherous, it wasn’t able to be completed.
However, like any good love story with a few twists and turns, there is a happy ending. With recent technological advances and federal funding, the “missing link” was completed in November. Now, the pieces of the Foothills Parkway fit together perfectly, and park visitors can feel like they’re driving above the clouds.

A Spring Styled Shoot in Tennessee
If you love the beauty of the lush green forest and rolling hills of East Tennessee, then you’re going to fall in love with this styled shoot as picturesque as a Thomas Kinkade painting. A pink watercolor paper suite, matching 3-tiered cake, and multi-colored sorbet beverages inspired the colorful spring vibe. The groom wore a classic tuxedo with a black bow tie and suspenders while the bride wore the perfect gown for an outdoor wedding. The stunning florals included a half-moon shaped ceremony arch and a chandelier of greenery suspended over the reception table. So much pretty from this group of talented Tennessee wedding pros.

An Autumn Mountain Wedding in Tennessee
Madelyn & Chad | November 4th | Knoxville, TN
From the bride: When we set out to plan our wedding, Chad and I wanted each decision to be intentional and honest about who we are. This day is so special and every aspect is a reflection of our lives and the people we love. My best friend and maid of honor designed our invitation suite and read a piece by my favorite poet during the ceremony. My dream dress was a custom collaboration with my dear friend, mentor, and talented designer Kate McDonald. Our photographs were taken by the couple who introduced us, who also hosted our wedding at their beautiful home. Our flowers and decor were curated by the kind and so creative Allie King, with Sassafras Flowers.
The day of our wedding was an absolute dream. It was a warm and sunny 60+ degrees with the most amazing orange and purple sunset. As we were saying our vows, the sun dipped over the mountains and the sky began turning the most gorgeous pastel colors. We are so thankful to our family, friends, and everyone who was a part of the best day of our lives. We are so grateful to be surrounded by so much love and support and will never forget this day.

A Mountaintop Engagement Session in Tennessee
From the Photographer, Alison McQuain Photography: Anna is a news anchor from the West Coast who has followed her job all over the country…now it looks like she will be putting down roots in East Tennessee thanks to her fiance Russell. As you can imagine, a news anchor in a small town is quite the celebrity. You would never know it…Anna and Russell are two of the sweetest people. They have a fur-baby, Max who made the most perfect appearance during our shoot. The weather on Roan Mountain was perfect with the mountains displaying all their splendor. These two lovebirds are getting married this fall.

Samantha loves everything that glitters and shines, so she added a beautiful rhinestone belt and bracelet along with a cathedral veil to her stunning gown. The ceremony was filled with hundreds of stunning florals. Their puppy, Lilly, wore a blush pink floral collar and a cute sign that read, “Daddy, here comes mommy”. The reception tent was overflowing with lush florals.

A Rustic Destination Wedding in Tennessee
There are three things Michael and Carrie love more than anything in the world: nature and its animals, craft beer, and each other. So, it only made sense that their wedding should reflect these priorities in earnest, a goal which they achieved seamlessly on a warm summer day in the Tennessee mountains.
