A Colorado Rocky Mountain Engagement

From the bride-to-be: Matthew & I were at the same New Year’s party where we shared our first kiss. After only 3 months of “officially” dating, we unknowingly moved in together. We spent our first summer together learning how to fly fish, mastering the skills of carp fishing and camping in the forest. We spend our weekends in the Rocky Mountains fishing for beautiful trout. When Matt proposed I was too shocked to cry, all I could say was yes!! We immediately called our families to tell them the big news, and in a few months we will be tying the knot in front of all of our loved ones, on a day that fits us, Earth Day.

A Mountaintop Adventure Session in Oklahoma
From the photographer, Kelcy Leigh Photography: Michael and Kimberly were married six months before this session. We decided to venture out and do a little bit of hiking and climbing in the Wichita Mountains in Lawton, Oklahoma. We celebrated marriage and love and life while taking in the gorgeous mountain views. I was so thrilled to be able to give these two images that were different from their wedding photos.

A Glacier National Park Engagement Session
From Brittany: Travis and I met, of all places, in a bar. We are both quite tall and we just locked eyes across the room over everyone else’s heads, and we have been inseparable ever since. We live in Minnesota with our dog Euchre. I had seen so many beautiful pictures of Glacier National Park and had always wanted to go. When we got engaged, I was determined to have our engagement pictures taken at Glacier. Marianne Wiest Photography gave us exactly what we asked for and then some. The photoshoot was relaxed, fun and full of breathtaking mountain scenery. Our pictures came out amazing and we had such a fun vacation in Montana.
Mount San Jacinto Engagement Session
From the photographer, Randy + Ashley: David + Malia laugh when they tell the story of how they met because it’s definitely not something either one of them were expecting! If you ask David, he’ll actually tell you that he replied to Malia’s Craigslist ad! But the REAL story is that once upon a time, Malia was living in Long Beach and she and her roommate ended up needing to find a new roommate for the third room of their house. Initially, Malia wasn’t too enthused about considering having a guy roommate (because hello – that could be kinda awkward), but when David came over for the interview – he immediately won Malia over with his fun and outgoing sense of humor. After only a few weeks of living together and becoming good friends, they both realized they had feelings for each other and began to date … and now, here we are! They chose to have their engagement session at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway because it’s the spot where David proposed to Malia.
A Fall Engagement Shoot on a Motorcycle
Glacier National Park set the stage for this romantic engagement shoot. What better way to enjoy the beauty of fall than on a motorcycle as the leaves of autumn rain down from the trees creating a road lined with gold. Stop for a picnic, snap a few photos and continue your romantic journey through the forest. Sounds like the perfect recipe for an unforgettable engagement session.

Breathtaking Rocky Mountain E-shoot
This magical Rocky Mountain engagement session from Ellen Ashton Photography was taken at Lost Gulch Lookout in Boulder, Colorado. The bride-to-be, Jana, is wearing a Lulu’s gown and the groom, James, is sporting the ever so popular Colorado hipster look. I think we can all agree that the views from this Rocky Mountain location are absolutely stunning!
A Surprise Proposal in the Park
From the photographer, Amy Caroline: When Sean contacted me and let me know that he wanted to propose to Stephanie here in Denver, and that he wanted me to photograph it, I was over the moon. The two of them are from Texas, but have family they were visiting in Denver. We landed on Cheesman Park in downtown Denver as the backdrop for this big event. With its big columns, rose gardens and rolling green hills, it’s the perfect Denver park to pop the question.
Sean was taking Steph out on a fancy dinner date, and just told her he was taking her on a walk through one of Denver’s city landmark parks beforehand. They strolled through the park; Steph oblivious to what was coming next.
Sean had them sit down on a park bench, and read through posts from his journal. In it, he had written so many special moments that he and Steph had shared, the laughs, the tears, and mostly the joys they had had in their dating years. Lastly leading her to the page where he talked about how he knew he had wanted to marry her from the very beginning of their dating lives. He took her hand and led her to the next spot where he dropped down on one knee, officially asking her to be his forever. Steph was still so surprised, overjoyed, and shocked. With absolute joy and tears she said yes!
We strolled around the park, capturing the newly engaged couple. Stephanie couldn’t stop looking at her new bling, and smiling up at her darling fiance.
