Wedding Inspiration in the Blue Ridge Mountains
The incredible view of the Blue Ridge Mountain range was the inspiration behind this off the beaten path styled shoot. The invitation suite was printed on handmade paper featuring watercolors that highlight the Blue Ridge Mountains. The table setting and decor combine the look of the natural surroundings with subtle modern gold touches in the candlesticks and with the slight shimmer of the table linen. These accents continue on through the cake table using natural greenery to highlight the gorgeous blush three tiered cake. Any couple searching for a way to combine the outdoors with a formal and classic wedding vision will certainly connect with the look of this wedding.

A Snowy Christmas Wedding in Utah
From the bride, Sarah: Daniel and I are both avid skiers. We knew we wanted to get married in the mountains, it’s our favorite place in the whole world. We wanted a luxurious après ski wedding with a warm holiday glow and our closest family plus a few friends who were crazy enough to make the trip.
THE DAY OF
We had a blizzard the day of our wedding. The most beautiful thick white snowy blanket that fell steadily for the whole day and into the night, it was magical!!
THE RECEPTION
Our reception was filled with gold glittery candles, red holly berries, brown pinecones on deep green pine boughs, and aspen tree accents. I felt like I was outside in the mountains—but inside of the coziest lodge glowing with the most lovely holiday sparkle!
ADVICE
Be chill. It’s your one and only dream-come-true day to celebrate the love of your life and the beginning of the rest of your forever together. At a certain point you let it go and just go with it because the day is going to be as wonderful as you allow it to be. Our day was wonderful and I did my best to soak up every moment

A Colorado Mountaintop Wedding at Granby Ranch
From the photographer, Emily RC Photography:
This wedding was absolutely spectacular. Besides being absolutely smitten with one another and their sweet son, Koen, Jess and Justin had a definite plan – a beautiful mountaintop plan. Jess was both masterfully organized and brimming with creative ideas. Justin was laid back and ready to celebrate their love and little family. The wedding day turned out to be just as bright and beautiful as they had hoped after some morning showers – not atypical weather in the Rockies, but nerve-racking still. Granby Ranch was the perfect venue. Guests rode up chair lifts at the resort and arrived at the ceremony site, a breathtaking vista with a wide view of the mountains. The hot sunshine was so bright that the sky was almost teal. The small breeze kept the aspens rustling throughout the afternoon. The reception held oodles of do-it-yourself decorations, scores of laughing friends, a live band and glitter galore. There was hardly a moment where the dance floor wasn’t full. It was truly a photographers dream, but, more than that, it was their dream, a vivid and joyful party to mark the start of their new phase of life. Held in a place – the mountains – that is dear to their hearts and with the people that matter the most.
From the bride:
I have a history working in the wedding industry, so my ideas were all planned out well in advance. I was definitely a Pinterest bride! I knew exactly what I wanted and did my best to have everything done in advance to make sure the final weeks before the wedding weren’t stressful.
My favorite – and least favorite – DIY project was our table numbers! My father-in-law is very skilled with woodworking and was gracious enough to create each of the 13 numbers. My job was glittering them. It took FOREVER and glitter was EVERYWHERE, but the end result was so worth it!

A Spring Destination Wedding in Steamboat Springs, Colorado
From the bride, Jen:
Pascal & I met and fell in love in Steamboat so we could not think of a better place to get married. We both love the winter and went back and forth about getting married in the snow. We thought a winter wedding might be too risky for our out of town guests so we chose June 17th! To our pleasant surprise, there was a foot of snow on top of Mt. Werner on our wedding day. We got the best of both worlds, a beautiful spring ceremony with a touch of winter at our reception!
I loved our flowers! The vibrant colors made the day so bright and colorful.
The day of our wedding it was raining on and off all morning. At about 4:30pm when we were supposed to get on the gondola to head up the ski mountain, the wind was too wild to go up. As we were the first wedding of the season, they had to get the buses out and do a trial bus ride up the mountain. With ample snow, it was touch and go if the buses could even make it up the mountain! To our relief, we were able to be bussed up to the reception site. It was a wild ride and added to the little things that made our day so memorable and perfect!
For our guest favors, my mom and I made 100 mini jars of blackberry jam.
My advice: Enjoy planning and when your wedding day comes, let the day play out, enjoy every minute…even if things don’t go as planned.

A Winter Destination Wedding in Colorado
From the bride, Elise:
Having a wedding in the mountains is truly breathtaking! Kevin and I skied the morning of the wedding and said our vows to each other, just the two of us on the mountain in a quite location in the trees as it lightly snowed, it was magical!
I loved my bouquet, it reminded me of a mountainside covered in snow.
I wanted lots of dynamics and textures so I had all my bridesmaids pick out their own dresses with different fabrics and colors in the blueish green realm.
My mom made my dress.
My advice: Don’t stress and reputable vendors know what they are doing. We didn’t have a tasting, our dessert was homemade, we never met our videographer until the day of our wedding, and we didn’t send a list of our favorite music to the DJ, but it all turned out perfect!

A Rustic Wedding in Flagstaff, Arizona
From the bride, Mia:
We are from the city and LOVE everything about Flagstaff. Having the mountains and snow as the backdrop for our dream wedding was more then we could have asked for. Our wedding day was by far the most beautiful setting we could have ever imagined.
My advice: Hire a wedding planner! Seriously, I cannot stress this enough. Our planner handled everything!

Styled Shoot: Woodsy Vintage
From the photographer, Amanda Lloyd Photography:
I’m over the moon about the details in this styled shoot! Washington has its own element of outdoor romance and is the perfect place for an outdoor styled shoot! Dyan and Daniel were celebrating their 6th wedding anniversary and were so excited to do this shoot! Vintage was the theme and local antique shops proved to be exactly what I was looking for! We went for a neutral color palette: tans, browns, grays and colors with a hint of teal and yellow. Let me say that the weather for our shoot was total CHAOS! It was sunshine, then pouring rain! Then, we decided to head up to Summit at Steven’s Pass for insanely gorgeous snowfall! It was DOWNPOUR snow! Dyan and Daniel were complete troopers and totally rocked the shoot! The weather was typical of Washington, and I loved every bit of it!
Zong Her of Her Couture designed the gorgeous veil and all the amazing flowers.
Dianne’s Delights in Seattle provided the seriously adorable cream colored ruffed cake, complete with a burlap banner style cake topper.
I collected all the fun vintage pieces from the Old Main Street Spanaway Antique Mall and all the unique wood pieces, including the chevron cake plate were make by a local wood shop, From the Wood Shed.
