A Winter Romance in the Rockies

Rachel  & Nathan |  March 9th  |  Breckenridge, Colorado

From the photographer, Sarah Joelle:
Rachel and Nathan planned an intimate March wedding hoping for snow… and they got their wish! It snowed ALL day creating a winter wonderland for the backdrop! Their wedding took place at a private family residence surrounded by snow-capped evergreens. Gold and silver hues were consistent though out the decor and styling with sparkly details and shimmering metallics. In their relationship Rachel is the “song bird” and Nathan is an “owl” so there were bird details as well… including the birdcage and decorative twig balls symbolic of birds nests. The day was filled with joy and happy tears…it was clear that this couple was loved well by their friends and family! And as the sun was setting everyone sat down at a candle lit table with a beautiful spread of gourmet cheeses, olives, and Spanish wines with dinner to follow.

From the bride, Rachel:
Our winter wonderland of a wedding was an intimate affair. Every decision, from the food, to my hair clip, had meaning.

Before the ceremony started, I gave Nathan a journal of my  thoughts and prayers that I’ve been collecting since I was a child, praying for my future spouse.  SarahJoelle07

We loved playing outside in the snow snapping our pictures.  It was a blast!

The reception was aglow with warmth from the candles and love that was felt by all.

My advice: Don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s mostly all small.

A Dreamy Autumn Mountain Wedding

Amanda & Ryan |  September 29th  |  Edwards, Colorado

From the bride, Amanda:
We both love the mountains and skiing so we decided to plan a destination wedding to Colorado. The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera was the perfect location for us because it had an intimate feel and had breathtaking views of the mountains. We wanted to keep our wedding fairly small and had about 60 people in attendance, all family and close friends.

The ceremony took place on the Overlook Lawn about an hour before sunset. The scenery was even more beautiful than we could have imagined since all of the aspen trees were changing color for fall.

In lieu of a guest book, we had a vintage Colorado map for guests to sign.

We created small wooden decorations that were a part of the table décor. We burned a heart with our initials into small tree stumps.

We both attended Texas A&M University so we wanted some details to reflect this. The groom’s cake and bride’s garter were both A&M themed. We also had the DJ play the Aggie War Hymn at the reception. LauraLeeAnders14

It was truly our dream wedding!
