A Country Style Mountaintop Elopement in Asheville

From the bride: More than anything Joshua and I just wanted the day to be about us. We wanted to be focused and not stressed out about the tiny details that come with planning your traditional wedding. We wanted to savor every moment and be able to look back and remember our wedding like it was yesterday. I can honestly say that we can. It was perfect!

Advice

Elope! Take the money you would spend on a wedding and put it as a down payment on a house. Our family knew about our plans to elope so instead of inviting everyone to our wedding, we took pictures along the way (picking up our rental car, signing our marriage license, picking up our flowers, etc.) and posted them on Facebook so they could be a part of it.

An Autumn Military Wedding in North Carolina

From the bride, Sarah: Jared and I are high school sweethearts and were together for 12 years before we got married, due to military life, we wanted to wait until he was done with training. We decided on a mountain wedding in North Carolina in the fall as all the leaves were changing.

I lost my mom in high school and everyone says I’m her spitting image so I knew it would be emotional when my dad saw me for the first time.

We held the ceremony outside in an open field with the Appalachian Mountains in the background.

Looking back, I really hated that we didn’t have enough time. Everyone tells you that the day goes by in the blink of and eye and it did!

A Couples Session with an Antique Truck in North Carolina

Married in Italy two years ago, Alessandra and Gino chose Yasmin Leonard Photography to take some fun holiday-inspired images to showcase their love. The vintage truck adorned with an evergreen wreath was the perfect prop for this romantic shoot in the Appalachian Mountains.

Wedding Inspiration in the Blue Ridge Mountains

The incredible view of the Blue Ridge Mountain range was the inspiration behind this off the beaten path styled shoot.  The invitation suite was printed on handmade paper featuring watercolors that highlight the Blue Ridge Mountains. The table setting and decor combine the look of the natural surroundings with subtle modern gold touches in the candlesticks and with the slight shimmer of the table linen. These accents continue on through the cake table using natural greenery to highlight the gorgeous blush three tiered cake. Any couple searching for a way to combine the outdoors with a formal and classic wedding vision will certainly connect with the look of this wedding.

Romance in the Mountains of North Carolina

From the bride, Rebecca: Both Carlos and I were born and raised in Miami, a very flat and tropical place. When we moved to North Carolina we absolutely fell in love with the mountains. We wanted our wedding to take place in the mountains surrounded by their beauty and to share that with our family and friends from back home. All of our guests traveled to our wedding.

I loved how intimate the view of Grandfather Mountain was from the balcony.  North Carolina Wedding in the Mountain North Carolina Wedding in the Mountain

For the seating chart, we scribed everyone’s name and their table numbers on the actual window panes from the house that Carlos and I bought about two years ago and are in the process of renovating.

I loved that our venue had a rustic aesthetic to its architecture and I wanted to contrast it with more feminine details and color palettes. I searched, and searched, for lace doilies for all the tables. This was by far, one my favorite details.

Since we were having our wedding in the south, and in the mountains, we wanted to give all of our friends and family a little taste of our lives in North Carolina and decided that we wanted our wedding menu to be a reflection of the culinary identity of the region: fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grit cakes, fried chicken, biscuits and jam, etc.

The best thing about our wedding day was getting to share our day with our closest family and friends! North Carolina Wedding in the Mountain

A Perfect Wedding Day in the Blue Ridge Mountains

From the wedding planner, Verge Events:
Kellie and Randy wanted a comfortable lunch reception for their guests who traveled from all over. We chose a palette of red and dark teal to accentuate the gardens of The Farm at Old Edwards. Teal is a special color for Kellie, a gynecologic oncologist, as it is the ovarian cancer awareness color. The beautiful ceremony gardens are beautiful on their own so we chose to accent specific key areas.

Hung down the aisle were sweet canning jars filled with a spectrum of red flowers and tied with teal ribbon.

Canning jars with red flowers were hung with teal ribbon at various lengths from the pergola. A Perfect Wedding Day in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Highlands North CarolinaThis wedding was not just the joining of Kellie and Randy in marriage but the uniting of a family. Kellie and her 2 year old son Luke walked to meet Randy who was waiting halfway down the aisle before walking the rest of the way to the altar as a family.

We placed 5 bottles of wine on a table that guests were instructed to sign and the new couple will drink on their next five anniversaries.

The reception took place in The Pavilion, a beautiful glass and beam structure which had a mix of round and square tables that were accented by various mercury glass containers filled with red flowers, a waterfall teal napkin and mini potted succulent favors.

We made teal and red felt flower pillows for the benches along the terrace to invite guests to utilize both the inside and outside spaces. Kellie LOVES ice cream so we had an ice cream bar in addition to cake where guests could build their own sundaes.

Black Mountain Bliss

Anne & Daniel |  February 9th  |   Black Mountain, North Carolina

From the photographer, Sunday Grant Photography:
Anne and Daniel got married on a gorgeous Saturday in February!  We were really hoping for snow, which we did not get, but we got the next best thing, a sunny 60 degree afternoon!  A guest was giving a toast at the reception and said that when Anne walked into the church she literally lit up the whole place. I could not agree with him more. She had an enormous smile on her face the whole day. Daniel just adores Anne. I love couples like these two.

SundayPhoto01 SundayPhoto02 SundayPhoto03 SundayPhoto04Anne’s flowers were stunning! I loved the pale and neutral colors that went beautifully with the grey bridesmaids dresses.

SundayPhoto05colorswatchI loved the “first look” Anne did with her parents. Such a sweet moment. SundayPhoto06 SundayPhoto07 SundayPhoto08 SundayPhoto09 SundayPhoto10 SundayPhoto11 SundayPhoto12

One of my favorite moments is when a crowd formed around Daniel and he did THE MOST AMAZING dance. It was so unexpected and amazing. SundayPhoto13 SundayPhoto14
