From the bride, Lauren:
When we started planning we agreed we wanted a mountain wedding with an outdoor ceremony to create a lush, natural ambiance for us. We also wanted a rustic locale that looked great at dusk and had a view of the water. At Lake Arrowhead Resort, we got both!
The ceremony was outdoors overlooking the lake, it was incredible. We had a family friend as our officiant, I’ve known her my entire life and she actually married my mother and step dad a couple years prior.
The ring wouldn’t fit on my finger, so when it came time for Alex to place the ring on my finger I had to keep telling him to just force it over my knuckle and reassure him that it didn’t hurt. Someone had advised me to put on some hand cream right before I walked down the aisle to avoid that, but I forgot with all the excitement.
For the décor, I wanted a little femininity and copper shimmer to play off of the fall colors. The tablecloths were sheer copper, and our centerpieces were peonies in antique milk glass vases to keep with the rustic theme. We placed old vintage books underneath our centerpieces to symbolize how we met at journalism school.
The groom’s cake was a Star Wars storm trooper!
Lauren & Alex’s
Venue, Caterer & Lodging: Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. I loved the ambiance and environment and there were several options for the ceremony and reception sites. But the beautiful photo opportunities was really the deciding factor for picking the venue.
Photographer: Leif Brandt Photography. He was a real pleasure to work with. He did such an amazing job!
Bride’s Gown: Lazaro, it was so gorgeous and had so much tulle. I fell in love with the Lazaro gown the minute I saw it the magazine.
