From the photographer, Lauren Brown:  Jonas had one request for Jenny when she asked him about wedding planning. Just one. The couple lives in Austin, Texas but were getting married in Ennis, Montana where Jenny had spent so much time vacationing with her family – fishing in the summer and skiing in the winter. Jenny and her father George had taken charge of the wedding planning, and with the help of the talented team at Lukas Trudeau had put together a beautiful plan for a light and classic outdoor reception that would perch above Ennis on a high plateau and look out on the pristine Ennis Lake and surrounding mountains. Jonas’s one request was for a little piece of home, a little reminder of Austin, set to the Montana backdrop. Austin is well known for it’s music and festivals, and one of Jenny and Jonas’s favorite of these is the Austin City Limits festival, held yearly in Zilker Park near downtown. One of the hallmarks of the ACL festival is a giant picture frame, where friends meet and gather and re-orient. This is what Jonas wanted. A giant picture frame reminiscent of the one where he and Jenny so often gather with their friends. And so he built one. And perched on a plateau overlooking Ennis Lake and the surrounding valley and mountains in the distance, friends gathered and laughed and snapped photos under a giant white picture frame.

There are three things Michael and Carrie love more than anything in the world: nature and its animals, craft beer, and each other. So, it only made sense that their wedding should reflect these priorities in earnest, a goal which they achieved seamlessly on a warm summer day in the Tennessee mountains.

From the photographer, Lauren Brown Photography:
Ask around about the secret to a long and happy marriage and you are sure to get a colorful variety of answers and advice. But there is one piece of solid marriage wisdom that in incredibly common, and that is, “be friends with your spouse.” Anna and Tom will have no problem with this. In fact, the story goes that they were friends first – they were introduced in college, at a time when Anna was determined to focus on her studies and not be distracted by dating. So the two remained “just friends,” establishing a solid base of companionship and compatibility long before things took a turn towards the romantic. The wedding of these two friends was beautiful. This year the spring in Montana was a wet one, with rain and grey skies for weeks on end. But the rain stopped and the clouds parted just in time to give Anna and Tom an absolutely gorgeous wedding day!

From the couple: We visited all the popular venues in the Aspen area, but started feeling a little discouraged because nothing really matched our vision until we visited Flying Dog Ranch.  As soon as we walked onto the property, it was love at first site. Lydia gave us a tour and we kept looking at each other thinking, this is going to be way outside our budget. We were shocked to hear it was half the cost of the other venues we had seen, and we committed on the spot to having the wedding there!

From the bouquet to the linens, we are absolutely loving this berry infused color palette!  Designers Rami Carter with Pick Me Weddings and Cheri Taunton with Southern Charm Weddings and Events created an elegant upscale feel in a rustic barn on Strawberry Creek Ranch, a working equestrian center and ranch in Colorado. Photographer Sarah Roshan captured all the pretty details including the beautiful mountain setting.

From the bride, Erica: I would have to say that Crooked Willow Farms was my inspiration. The rustic barns and grounds are used to breed and train beautiful jumper horses. I just really loved the mix of country with graceful elegance. The beautiful red barns with fresh flowers beds pretty much encompassed all that we wanted, simple with splashes of color. Although we felt like we didn’t add too many small touches, a lot of guests stated that our wedding was very much “us”.Rocky Mountain Destination Wedding Colorado - Luxe Mountain Weddings Rocky Mountain Destination Wedding Colorado - Luxe Mountain Weddings Rocky Mountain Destination Wedding Colorado - Luxe Mountain Weddings Rocky Mountain Destination Wedding Colorado - Luxe Mountain Weddings Rocky Mountain Destination Wedding Colorado - Luxe Mountain Weddings Rocky Mountain Destination Wedding Colorado - Luxe Mountain Weddings

For our escort cards, I used a paper crane with an origami envelope below that contained each guest’s table number.

From the bride, Elisa: Having been born and raised in Colorado, I knew I wanted to make our wedding truly authentic with all the things that I love about my home state. Since John and I have so many wonderful memories in Vail, it was an easy decision to make when choosing our wedding destination. Our wedding planning started with a few themes: simple, rustic and elegant with a vintage flare. We started with a few details and it grew from there.Rustic Mountain Glam Wedding in Vail, Colorado

The flowers at the ceremony and reception stayed true to our theme. I envisioned a natural wild flower look, but still elegant. Lizzy from Soul Flower Floral Designs made that vision come to life. I was absolutely obsessed with my bouquet, my bridesmaids’ bouquets, and the beautiful arrangements used throughout the reception.

John and I decided to do a first look at the top of Vail Mountain which was so incredibly special. It was nice to have a moment alone with each other before the ceremony overlooking the Rocky Mountain Range. The view truly took our breath away and the moment was perfect. Chris McLaughlin did an incredible job making us comfortable and the photos he took throughout the day truly captured the joy that we felt.

One personalized moment that I will always remember was having John’s brother play the guitar, while my dear friend sang ”When the Right One Comes Along” during the ceremony. We were so overwhelmed with love in that moment and it will stand out in my mind as the most complete I have ever felt.

Rustic Mountain Glam Wedding in Vail, Colorado Another special moment was when John and I took pictures with our wedding party under the iconic Covered Bridge in Vail Village. There was a food and wine festival happening that weekend making the bridge a very busy intersection. To have complete strangers be so accommodating while those photos were being taken was also very special. Rustic Mountain Glam Wedding in Vail, Colorado

Continuing with our authentic Colorado theme, we used vintage skis as our guestbook and gave guests wild flower seeds to “spread the love.” We provided personalized mason jars to drink our “I Do” beer from Gore Range Brewery. We also had fun games for the guests to play that tied in with our rustic theme such as the corn hole and pinball.

Jessica from A Vintage Affair Events & Rentals and her team went above and beyond to ensure the reception encompassed all the elements of our theme.  Each aspect of the décor was truly perfect, from the whiskey barrel dessert table, to the beautiful lounge area, and the use of wooden crates to display pictures from our parents wedding.
